Ballerina Closes Out Trailers with Explosive Action Montage

With the theatrical release date for Ana de Armas-led spinoff From the World of John Wick: Ballerina looming on the horizon, fans of the John Wick franchise can feel right at home. It’s going to be three weeks until From the World of John Wick: Ballerina drops on June 6, 2025, and just before it, Lionsgate released the final trailer for Ballerina. It is safe to say that fans are in for an explosive yet effortlessly stylish time.

One of the most recent Wick films, John Wick: Chapter 3 — Parabellum, was released in 2019. It is safe to say that the plot of From the World of John Wick: Ballerina takes place around the events of that film. In Parabellum, John Wick got into trouble for killing the mob boss Santino D’Antonio on Cthe ontinental Hotel’s grounds and was put “excommunicado” by the High Table. The result was a multi-million-dollar bounty on his head. Wick was then forced to go into hiding as he was hunted through the streets of New York. After jumping from place to place, Wick made his way to the Ruska Roma crime family headquarters.

Led by the mysterious Director (Anjelica Huston), this branch of the Roma offered shelter for Wick and, in return, served as a brutal indoctrination for the young recruits. The director’s disciples were not your everyday ballerinas, rather highly trained ballerina assassins. In Parabellum, a young ballerina was caught rehearsing on the stage. That was the character of Eve Macarro, who made a brief cameo. However, From the World of John Wick: Ballerina will focus on Eve, portrayed by Ana de Armas.

Some other familiar faces will also be joining Ana de Armas in From the World of John Wick: Ballerina. One of them is Anjelica Huston, who will be reprising her role from John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum. Ian McShane will also be reprising his role as Winston, the manager of the Continental. And though the film is being released in 2025, Lance Reddick will also be reprising his role in this upcoming film, as he passed away in March 2023. The late actor will be playing the role of Charon, the Continental’s helpful concierge.

Gabriel Byrne will also be playing the antagonist of this film as the Chancellor, the film’s primary antagonis,t who is using his power to go against Eve by making an entire town join the forces against her. Sharon Duncan-Brewster and Norman Reedus will also be joining the cas,t with the former playing Nogi, Eve’s mentor, and the latter as Daniel Pine. Two other cast members who are joining Ana de Armas in this upcoming film are Catalina Sandino Moreno and David Castañeda, though their respective roles have yet to be revealed.

The Origin Story of a Ballerina Assassin

If there is one thing that the John Wick franchise is consistently good at, it is cinematic assassinations and elegance, as both of them are the trademarks of the films. The first trailer for From the World of John Wick: Ballerina was released back in September 2024 and focused primarily on Eve’s past. The viewer got a glimpse of the traile,r which showed that Eve lost her parents at a young age. After that, she joins the Ruska Roma and makes it her ultimate goal to avenge the murder of her father. The early footage from the trailer focuses more on the aspect of her revenge and the way she seeks it, rather than the ballerina assassin part of her life.

The last trailer, which was released in March 2025, has somewhat kept the audience waiting as it provided a brief but serious look into the John Wick character from this particular film. The iconic line “What’s my name?” was a refreshing sight for the fans as John Wick’s sudden appearance in the snowy and stylish background is something the audiences want more of.

Ana de Armas’ Ballerina is the Leading Lady This Time

The new and final trailer for Ana de Armas’ John Wick spinoff has brought a more serious and aggressive side of her character to the limelight. It starts with John Wick holding Eve in his sight with ominous music playing in the background. After that, there are quick snippets and shots of action-packed violence that include hand-to-hand combat, the use of guns, and quick movements.

Ana de Armas has done a whole lot of training in order to fit the part, and some of her movements might seem somewhat familiar. She is making her way through the mass of opponents, either using them as human shields or with the deadly ballet technique of “stripping away.” The choreography, cinematography, and acting are all super slick, fun, and entertaining to watch.

Ana de Armas, in the film, is seen working with different characters, making use of knives and ballet moves to kill her opponents. If this is a part of what the full film will offer, there is a whole lot to look forward to from Ana de Armas. The audience got to hear the iconic lines such as “This isn’t done until they’re dead” in the film as well. A slow-motion shot was seen with Ana de Armas screaming her heart out, most likely after she killed someone.
